Lesbian Child Abduction

A lesbian woman who had a child with her partner, had a religious expierence, converted to Christianity and fled with the child. While I commend the lifestyle switch, not sure I agree with abducting the child. But is the switch from gay to straight possible? I got two stories that seem to indicate it is.
