Mosque in Sheboygan

A Muslim man wanted to change a abandoned health store into a Mosque in Sheboygan. A seemingly miniscule thing right? Wrong. Everyone and their mother came to a townhall meeting about the proposal and most were not happy about it. What country are these people living in? No one has been a stauncher critique of Islam than I, but if this is an American citizen, and he wants to build a mosque, I don't see why he should be stopped.
