Suing Dad For College

A young woman believed her dad would attempt to flake out of paying for college after her parents were divorced; so she drafted a contract ensuring his compliance. Well 3 years passed, all paid for. But the 4th year he refused to pay. So what did she do? She sued him. And here's the kicker, she won a 40k settlement. While she was definitely within her legal rights to do so, I think the relational damage that might have been created was not worth the 40k she received.
