Anne Rice Leaving The Church

Friday, July 30, 2010

We've talked about Anne Rice before. Even lifted her up as a hero of real life and faith. Then today, the shocking pronouncement from her Facebook page that she is leaving the church. She refuses to be anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-intellectual, etc... etc... While some of her sentiment I share about the frustrations of being apart of the modern church, there is one thing to always remember. The church is a family. Good, bad, and ugly, we stay together. Leaving the Church is the same as leaving the family.

Gravatar.com Leaving the Church is fine. God is everywhere. You don't have to go to church to believe in God and have faith. Maybe the church she was part of did not suit her needs. Maybe the church she was part of is cruel and evil ... everything that God is NOT about. Freedom of Religion folks. Get with the times ! "You don't need walls of sand and stone." The truth is spoken. Anyone that says that someone cannot worship how and where they want is the voice of insecurity and he or she lack faith in God. Get over yourself.
