New Canaan, CT is considering taking money from a technology grant and implementing devices that would track children within their custody or control. Parents seem to not like this idea very much and I agree.

Gravatar.com What ever happened to having faith in the children? The school officials need to be reminded that children will live DOWN to their expectations as well as up to. The show today brought back memories of childhood. You described mothers correctly. My mother had control issues. She felt she needed to know all 6 kids' every move. We weren't allowed to close bedroom doors (except changing clothes), even then we couldn't have doorknobs. Routine room/car/purse searches, our mail read (before we were able to sometimes)...No problems leaving us at college, the girls "weren't allowed" to go. It can have a crippling effect on a kids' psyche. My son had two rules: keep your grades up and don't get brought home by the police (or expect me to come get you). He turned out great. Kids will never take responsibilty for anything if they aren't given any. Trust can make or break a person.
