I Just Can't Take It Anymore

An 80-year old man recently stabbed his wife after he just couldn't take her dementia anymore. That's a rough one. One the one hand, one is somewhat sympathetic towards those dealing with dementia, but on the other hand, it was still a life. If you were sitting on a jury, how would you deal with this?
