America The Impoverished?

According to data released today, 1 in 6 Americans is "impoverished." But I have a beef with this statistics for two reasons. 1) The poverty line in America is set at $22,050 - there are people around the world that would LOVE to be making $22,050. 2) This "poverty" line still does not include the safety nets we have in our society like food stamps, housing subsidies, or EIC.
