IL Outlaws the Death Penalty

Monday, March 14, 2011

Illinois' Governor recently signed into law the outlawing of the death penalty in his state. And while I have the opinion that Illinois is probably one of the worst run states in the country, I have to say kudos to him for this decision. The death penalty is wrong and it is abhorrent that any state still continues to have it be legal.

Gravatar.com It is abhorrent to imprison people for life.it is inhuman and debases the society and the people that do it. It is abhorrent to not have a death penalty. It shows a subconscious expression of our primitive [animalistic] nature where "survival of the fittest",the strong over the weak prevails. It is beyond barbaric. Barbaric moral codes, [an eye for an eye etc.], though unenlightend are at least based on what makes us human [a sense for justice and for what are breeches of justice]. Abolishing the death penalty is to step outside of the human [ethical] realm completely by allowing the murderer to remain standing simply because he had the power to do so.It expresses solidarity for the strong [murderer] over the weak [victim] and is therefore a regression beyond barbarism to our "survival of the fittest" animalistic past.Life in prison is a pretense at enlightenedment. It is diabolical And to be against the death penalty but not against preemptive war or war as revenge- that to drop bombs on populations knowing that innocent people will be killed is not "abhorrant' [as long as you use the word democracy or freedom or other nice words when you talk about it] but is acceptable, but that to kill one person who is a murderer IS "abhorrant' ;sounds like selective indignation. My solidarity has to always be with the defenseless victim [of the murderer and of the bombs.IOnly God can judge the murderer but as humans we have the right to make laws to protect the weak and defenseless over the strong and to exact capital punishment to someone who simply by virtue of his strengh can deprive a weekling of his life. Anything less then capital punishment is in fact complicity with the strong [living] murderer over the weak[dead] victim.
