Some Feel The Sting of the Black Spelling Bee

In order to encourage academic progress some have formed what is now being called the African-American Spelling Bee. And while some have said that it is lowering the bar in the "everyone-gets-a-trophy" society that we now live in, I have to say that I think it is quite a good idea.

Gravatar.com How can one NOT wonder if a black or female doctor is a product of affirmative action? It doesn't mean that they are not competent, but affirmitave action is a fact of life and more qualified people are sometimes passed over for the sake "diversity".
