Maria Shriver & Arnold Schwarzenegger Call It Quits

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

It was announced today that Maria Shriver & Arnold Schwarzenegger are ending their 25-year marriage. Wow! And while the reasons haven't been officially released, many of her friends are stating that it is because he was a serial philanderer. But what I want to focus on is that "20-something" itch that appears to happen sometimes. What secrets do you have to make it over that hump?

Gravatar.com Give each other space .My take on Maria Shriver is that she was raised to believe you must always be doing something and have some project or cause or career going.[She was on Oprah once and Oprah said she spent Thanksgiving at Maria's home and felt exhausted because everyone had to be continually"on" doing or playing or discussing some heavy subject-like it was an affront to just relax ].I believe Maria now feels that she has to find something to do and that her husband is an obstacle to that.Of course he's not. This is inauthentic response to the fact that she feels guilty because she's not out there doing some great project or job. It's sad because she's not in touch with her inner more spiritual self if she's still so concerned with ourward works. If her husband is set to go back to making movies it should not follow that she needs to start on a new career. This tit for tat is ridiculous. What's good for him now does not have to be what's good for her.You would think it could be a blessing for her to not have to be doing anything public and that she could cultivate a deeper inner, spiritual self. She is a Catholic after all.A time for every season.Instead she's making a big thing out of her husband's ways which she's lived with all these years. She's making a mistake and should stay with him and cultivate a more spiritual life as a married women.

Gravatar.com Well that view was then, this is now.I just could not forgive my husband having a child with someone else.I know even that goes against my faith and belief in Jesus Christ but I would be tormented every moment having a husband who also now has a "family" with someone else,a child he now loves as much as our children. The pain would be too great to forgive or reconcile .An affair or sexual promiscuity i could forgive [i think] but not having a child. When I was younger even sexual infidelity would have been unbearable but now that would not bother me so much. But the pain of knowing he loves a child I am not part of would be too big of a betrayal.I thank God this has never happened to me and pray for Maria and Arnold and all involved.I do believe Maria was too involved in things not conducive to a good marriage;apparently she never really "left her mother and father" for her husband as marriage requires us to do.She was too involved in glorifying both her mother and father for their noble past deeds[special olympics and peace corp] instead of focussing on the here and now with her marriage .That she lacked the instinct to perceive what was going on in her home regarding her husband and another woman speaks to her attachment to her parents over her husband [her concern with the legacy of her parents ].
