Debt Caps and Alcoholics

Sunday, July 31, 2011

The debt cap debate rages on as Congress tries to reach an agreement to borrow more money. This issue reminds me of dealing with an alcoholic. The more often you bail him out, the more often he will ask you to be bailed out. Pain is usually necessary for us humans to change. And Congress has yet to experience pain or the consequences of their addiction to spending. Your family and mine could never live like this.

Gravatar.com Hi Alan. I enjoy your show. I want to make a comment about Casey Anthony's jury. You made a commend in April about a criminal being sent to the chair for killing a police officer. You asked the audience "If you were on a death penalty case, wouldn't you want to be absolutely sure you have all the facts before deciding someone should die for their crime?" While I have my own opinions about the case, if I was on the jury, heard what they heard, I'd make the same decision. Regardless of the severity of the crime, I'd want to have all the facts. I don't envy the jury one bit. They had a difficult decision to make and I applaud they used the facts presented to make a decision instead of their emotions. Thank you and God Bless
