Chris Christie and the F Word

Sunday, October 2, 2011

Chris Christie is weighing a run for the Presidency, and the mainstream media has already leapt on him. Michael Kinsley has flat out said that Christie is too fat to be President. Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post told Christie to "eat a salad and take a walk." Being fat still carries quite a stigma. Ironically, no one seemed to suggest that President Clinton should lose weight or that President Obama should be disqualified for smoking. Obesity is not a good thing, but neither is it a disqualifier for the office. With the issues America faces right now, we should be looking to evaluate all the leaders we can possibly muster. With 2/3 of Americans qualifying as either overweight or obese, it is silly to say that those 2/3 have no business running for office.

Gravatar.com Even I think this is stuipdity. Eisenhower had a heart attack and was re-elected. They just need to focus on the damage that Christie would do to the middle class workers of this country. If you think we have high unemployment now, just imagine if HE was the President. This country can't survive a Christie administration or any other republican administration, for that matter.
