Mothers Day is right around the corner. OK, well, if you didn?t know, Mother?s Day is next Sunday (May 8th). Since Mother?s Day is coming, we have the annual opportunity to remind our mothers how much we love them and care for them. The Ten Commandments remind us to honor our mother and father. Most of us remember our mothers fondly due to the love, nurture, and support that they have given us over the years. As a result, mothers all over the country will receive cards and gifts, phone calls, flowers, and be treated to lunch or dinner on Mother?s Day. My faith emphasizes that one key trait of a strong mother is the spirit of sacrifice. A good mother sacrifices on behalf of her children: her children come first. On Sunday, I will share the remarkable story of one mother who embodies that ideal. --- Heroes of Real Life and Faith --- While most moms cherish Mother?s Day, many moms, or would-be moms, are currently struggling with an unexpected or unwanted pregnancy. These would-be moms are often in crisis and are trying to decide whether to bring a new life into the world, or to seek an abortion. Not an easy decision. God calls us to protect and value life. This Sunday I will introduce you to one woman who lives out her faith in real life every day trying to do just that: support and protect the value of life. She is a hero of real life and faith.
