The debate over creation versus evolution has raged for many years. The secular world has had great success in keeping the Bible?s understanding of creation out of the public discourse. However, the Kansas State School Board has called a hearing to determine whether teaching evolution in schools shows a bias against religious teachings; especially chapters 1 and 2 of the book of Genesis that define creation from a Christian perspective. Many in the Kansas scientific community are boycotting the hearings since they feel that only science, and not religious beliefs, can define the origins of life. Evolution is helpful; science has much to teach us about how life has changed and developed over time. However, evolution, divorced from God, is woefully inadequate to explain the origin of life. Evolution cannot possibly explain the original creation of life. Where did life come from in the first place? God. Evolution is simply one tool used by God in His creation of life What is wrong with making sure that people know that?
