Josh Long and Troy Driscoll planned a fun day of shark fishing as they departed Sullivan?s Island, SC, but little did they realize that they would be at sea for almost a week surviving on their faith in God, raw jellyfish, and seawater. Strong currents and blustery conditions pushed their small sailboat out to sea, and the boys knew that they were in trouble. As the ordeal continued, and hope of rescue faded, the boys sang hymns and prayed that God would protect them and save them. At the same time, the families of the boys were also in prayer that the Holy Spirit would protect them and bring them safely home. Real-life and faith certainly came together in this story. When has your faith been put to the test? How was your prayer life impacted by the event? Prayer has sustained me and drawn me closer to God at the darkest moments of my life. That is where real life and faith intersect.
