Father?s Day is this Sunday, and it is time again to let your dad, father, papa, or padre know how much you appreciate them. Did you know that Father?s Day has existed in the United States since the early 1900?s? It was not until Richard M. Nixon signed it into law (1972), that Father?s Day became a nationally recognized day to honor our fathers. Fathers have been loving and supporting their families for thousands of years, and it is right that we have a special day to honor the men who have had a lasting and profound effect on our lives. My father had a profoundly positive effect on my life as he helped me grow and mature as a man and, more importantly, as he guided my steps toward being a person of faith. I am fortunate to have many wonderful memories of my father. There is NOTHING more important than being a good father to your children. Having your child say as they reach the age of 21, "I had a good Dad," is one of life's greatest victories.
