Obama's Health Care Crisis

Health care--preserving the lives of fellow human beings--is fundamentally a moral issue. Faith should play a major role in America's health care debate. President Obama, however, has labelled it a full-blown political crisis, which only the government alone has the right to address. By politicizing is so much and trying to ram it through Congress on his narrow terms, Obama has muddied the discussion and pushed it away from its moral center towards a partisan contest of party gamesmanship and ideological bickering. The only health care crisis we face is one the President is leading the nation towards. After a scary incident involving my daughter earlier this week, I began to rethink what we know about the health care debate and want to reinvest the faith angle into the overall discussion. If we neglect this and other pertinent issues such as cost, supply and demand, universality, and so on, we could potentially end up in a larger mess than we currently face.
