According to a recent Associated Press poll, 53% of those surveyed consider homelessness a very serious issue in America. The numbers are quite troubling. On any given night in America, it is estimated that between 500,000 and 700,000 people are lacking a real home. During a given year, approximately 3,500,000 people experience homelessness in the United States. Approximately one-third of America's homeless are children. How have we gotten to this point? What is causing the spread and growth of homelessness? Who is responsible for correcting this injustice?
